Information Technology Student LAUNCHes into Apprenticeship

Updated: May 25, 2022

I feel like it's one of the best choices I made to help me push me forward to that career path...Without [the apprenticeship], if I would have completed my courses and gone straight to a job, I don't think I would have been prepared.

Alma Lara, an Information Technology student at Moreno Valley College wanted to expand her experience and land a future career within the tech field. She learned about the LAUNCH Apprenticeship Network through one of her professors who encouraged her to apply to the program. Alma landed an apprenticeship with the City of Moreno Valley and has continued to apply her studies and expand her knowledge with her apprentice position in the Information Services division.

In her interview with Network Kinection CEO, Erick Briggs, Alma shares her apprenticeship experience and advice with other technology students about the importance of gaining exposure and being able to apply classroom knowledge to real world situations.
